Sailing with Amfitriti
It was a lovely morning , when we started our sailing trip from Gouvia marina to Ithaca .
Our purpose was to sail with her (Amfitriti) , as I hadn’t tested her , since our transfer , from Athens , mid July for the charter season .
She sails well , in close haul , reach , and we could , even go around 25 Degrees ! She continues to go fast up to 70 Degrees , however , close to beam reach close to half wind , we only notice a slight difference in speed .
Due to the smaller Genoa , this could be a limitation for sailing more than 90 Degrees .
However the large main sail , balances the difference between , more speed and less stability in full sails , at beam reach .
The Autopilot managed to tack , precisely , in the degrees we wanted to and always returning to the right degrees.
The two steering wheels , were very stable in handling the pressure , in close reach , as we only had to adjust the break on it .
