Sun Odyssey 449 “Ariadne”
In-mast furling and a bow thruster. The boat we put couples on for a first bareboat week in Greece.
About Ariadne
The in-mast furling main means you can reef from the cockpit without leaving the wheel, and the bow thruster takes the drama out of a stern-to mooring when the wind is across the quay.
This is the one we put couples on for a first bareboat week in Greece. It is also the one experienced crews pick when they would rather be swimming than sail-handling.
Her 1.80 m draft is shallow enough for most Ionian anchorages. New cabin mattresses went in for 2026 and the Raymarine plotter is a 2024 fit.

Base and check-in
Ariadne lies at D-Marin Gouvia Marina, Corfu — Dock A, berth 22. Roughly fifteen minutes from Corfu airport.
Check-in is Saturday from 17:00 and check-out Saturday by 09:00. Allow about an hour for the briefing and handover: we walk every system on the boat with you before you leave, and most crews come back to the berth on the Friday evening so nobody is sailing to a deadline on the last morning.
A refundable security deposit of €3.000 is blocked on the charterer’s credit card at check-in and released after redelivery. The card must be in the charterer’s name.
Before you book
Can I charter Ariadne bareboat?
Yes, with a sailing licence valid for coastal waters and real experience skippering in Greek waters — particularly anchoring and Med-mooring stern-to. The port authorities require the original certificate or an official translation, in English, together with a crew list. A second crew member must sign as co-skipper. Send us both documents before the charter so the crew list can be prepared.
Is she a good first bareboat?
She is the one we would pick for that. The in-mast furling main means you reef from the cockpit without going forward, and the bow thruster makes a crosswind mooring far less stressful. Two people can handle her comfortably.
Can we start or finish somewhere other than Gouvia?
One-way charters to Preveza are possible, subject to availability and a one-way fee. Ask when you enquire and we will price it with the rest of the quote.
What happens if something breaks?
You call us. We have technical support at Gouvia, a second base at Preveza and cover at Gaios on Paxos, so wherever you are in the northern Ionian help is not far. Most things we talk you through in five minutes on the phone.
How do I book?
Send us your dates and how many of you there are. You will get an answer from Potis, usually the same day, with availability and a full price including the charter pack and anything else you have asked for. A deposit on signing confirms the booking and the balance is due thirty days before you sail.
